Summer Heat and My New Staple Product: African Royal Hot Six Oil

I have been upset at the condition of my hair due to the heat! Now I said in another post that I would look into another product to keep my hair moisturized and not dry and feeling like sand paper. I decided to look up certain products and I decided to use this stuff called "African Royal Hot Six Oil". Now I have Googled, Binged and went thru countless websites just to get reviews on this stuff.
I had seen it at Rite Aide and It seemed like what I needed to use since it is made from only all natural plant herbs oils which is found to be good for hair like mines. There are no animal fats or animal oils which I found to be a plus! Now I looked over the Ingredients and I was astonished on how NATURAL it really was. Here is a list of the ingredients:
  Olive Oil
Canola Oil
Wheat Germ Oil
Sweet Almond Oil
Safflower Oil
Castor Oil
Sesame Oil
Vitamin E
Vitamin A
Vitamin D
Cyclomethicone
Sheep Sorrell
Yarrow
Slippery Elm Bark
Sage
Henna
Comfrey
Burdock Root
Ginseng
Goldenseal
Cherry Bark
Black Walnut
Chamomile
Alfalfa
Hyssop
Wheat Germ
Fragrance

I used it to do my first hot oil treatment in 10 years and I absolutely love it! I used a little today with my other morning moisturizing products and my hair is still looking healthy and moisturized! Oh and it smells downright awesome!!!I am in love! I give it a 10 out of 10 and I just started using it!

Well, I got to go! I got a weekend to plan!

Much Love,

5 Simple Things I Do To Lose Weight!

I am excercising full heartedly again and I have been eating good healthy food at least 90% of the time! I have accepted my life change and I am in love with the fact that it isnt just a fad that will go away.

Here are some simple ways that I have used to lose some weight:

1. Calorie counting is hard for me but I find a way to do it anyway. Some days I decide it is too much hassle and I cut my plates in half! It is a good trick that helps out when you get tired of keeping track of everything that enters your mouth!

2.Also I'm not exercising as much lately because of a health issue but whenever I do exercise, I do it with my goal in mind! I usually exercise 3 to 4 times a week but I have been doing 2 to 3 lately (Again, because of a health issue). I know for a fact that cardio does the trick for any weight lose! I also love strength and endurance training!

3. I dont eat too much after 7 or 8 pm anymore. I have taken a page from my grandparents book and started eating dinner before the sun goes down. I have found it to be a struggle because I'm so used to eating dinner at around 9 and 10 at night.

4.Instead of taking a bus, a cab or getting a ride somewhere, I have been walking to most of the places I have been going to lately. I have realized I can walk longer distances now then I have been for years.

5. Watch Your PORTIONS!!! You might feel like you need to eat alot to be full but cut back to the portions recommended on the box! If you want that full feeling, drink lots of water (I use Crystal Light too lol).

Its that simple! No crazy fad diets! No all liquid diet! No starving yourself!

Im proud of the weight I have lost so far and I am going to make my goal! No If, Ands Or But's about it!

Much Love,
Tori P.

Stoping The ABUSE!!!

This is a topic close to my heart and I hope others take it to heart too and change how you feel about you!!!

I have said some horrible things about myself. It seems easier to abuse yourself then it is for others to do it. I have said awful things like:

"I can't do this!"
"I'm ugly!"
"I'm fat!"
"I'm stupid!"
"I'm not worth anything!"

One day I decided to look in the mirror and say to myself:

"Do you think that can get you anywhere in life? Talking about yourself like your dirt? Not appreciating what you give to your friends and family? No! You wont! So stop abusing yourself and start appreciating yourself cause there is only one you and you are beautiful, intelligent and have got all the potential in the world!!!"

I have been exploring ways to boost my self esteem.I have been using positive affirmations and quotes to boost myself up! I say something nice about myself every morning when wake up and every night before I go to bed. I say things like:

"I create my own positive change."

"I love myself for who I am."

"I love myself and I am in charge of my own happiness."

"I reach my dreams by taking one step at a time."

"I love and accept the blessed bounty of the universe."

I am trying to create a beautiful surrounding for my family, my friends and myself. All that negative has gone out the window for me! Positivity and support has helped me lose weight, go natural with my hair and have a new outlook on life! I will keep being positive and spread that positivity to others in need of it.

I am blessed and so are you!

Much Love,
Tori P.

I TAKE BACK THE POWER I HAVE LET OTHERS STEAL FROM ME!!!!

"I have been feeling very unattractive lately. To tell you the truth, it isnt me that is making me feel this way. It isnt some thought of myself in a negative light that I have made up in my head. Its word from people I care about. People I love. People whom I have known all my life. Their words sink into me like a hot knife to butter. Now I take what they people say very seriously. They dont mean it out of malice. Even though they think they are helping, they are making it hard for me to keep my positive attitude about myself.  I have been trying to delete it from my memory but it seems to be stuck like a broken record.I love them but I cant keep pretending like it doesnt hurt. I have to stick up for myself. I have decided I refuse to let anyone take that much power from me again. Also, I had to look inside myself and make a promise to be truthful to myself. I have decided to tell myself this every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed---"I am Pretty; I am Beautiful; I am a Queen; I am Strong; I will be the best Me I can be!".I Am PROUD to be me! I will make it to my goal of 140! I will stay natural with my hair! I WILL!!!!From this day forth, I TAKE BACK THE POWER I HAVE LET OTHERS STEAL FROM ME!!!!

It's June!!! Time to find a Summer Hair Regimen and get my Butt Fit away from the HEAT!

I came from work today with my hair being BONE DRY!! Now I used my regular morning hair regimen of my spray bottle filled with water, my SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Oil Therapy 3-in-1 Creme Oil Misturizer and my Shea Moisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie and by the time I got off work, my hair felt like a brilo pad! I might need to step my game up and get a summer regimen. I realize that my hair needs more moisture due to the heat and sun of the Summer months. Im doing my research on what I can do to keep my hair looking fabulous and staying healthy!
I have also noticed I need to start a new fitness regimen! I have been stuck at the same weight for a little less then a month now! I have been slacking on my exercise but I still walk alot and drink alot of water and eat smaller meals. Stress is also a contributing factor in my being stuck. I need to do more to reach my goal of 140 pounds! I have been checking out alternative excercise and motivational methods to help me get up and moving! I have also started using self esteem exercises for the part of me who doesnt think I can do this.

Since the heat started, I havent done a lot of outdoor activities as well. I have some workout videos so I might start using those instead of heading out in the hot hot sun. Also, I need alot more weight training. I love weights because they can shape and actually make you feel like you accomplished something!

I will Succeed.....I Will let NOTHING get in my way.....
Here's hoping June is way better than May!

Much Love,
Tori P.
